Aluminium Information: In March, China’s imports of aluminum alloy increased 9%, and the volume of exports decreased by 3%.

According to the import and export data released by the general administration of customs, China’s imports of aluminum alloy rose 9 percent year-on-year to 4,893 tons in March 2018. The total imports of aluminum alloy in the first quarter of 2018 were 14,961 tons, up 1% year on year.

Taiwan is a major source of aluminum alloy imports from China. In March 2018, China imported 1227 tons of aluminum alloy from Taiwan, up 35% year-on-year. Last month, the UAE exported 764 metric tons of aluminum alloy to China. Other major countries and regions of China’s aluminum alloy imports include Malaysia, South Korea, Venezuela, Russia, Malaysia, and South Korea.

In March 2018, China’s aluminum exports continued to decline. Total aluminum exports fell 3% in March from a year earlier. In the first three months of 2018, China’s aluminum exports fell 2% year on year to 114561 tonnes.

Japan’s imports of aluminium alloy from China fell 5% from a year earlier and to 29,690 tonnes in March 2018. Japan imported 73,393 tons of aluminum alloy in the first three months of 2018.

The major destinations for China’s aluminum exports include Hong Kong, Thailand, Taiwan, and Vietnam, with imports of 6,723 tons, 1,845 tons, 1,733 tons and 1,380 tons.
