Industrial Aluminum Profile, also called industrial aluminium extrusion and industrial aluminium alloy profiles, is a kind of aluminium alloy material as its main component. Aluminum bar is extruded by hot melting to obtain aluminum material with different section shape. The proportion of the alloy added is different, and the mechanical properties and application fields of the industrial aluminum profiles produced are different. It is mainly manifested in the following 6 aspects:
Hardness:
Many customers are very concerned the hardness when buying industrial aluminum profile. Hardness is directly related to the chemical composition of the alloy. Different states also have a great influence. According to the highest hardness that can be achieved, alloy 7××× series, alloy 2××× series, alloy 4××× series, alloy 6××× series, alloy 5××× series, alloy 3××× series and alloy 1××× series are decreased successively.
Strength:
Strength is an important factor to be considered in product design. When aluminum alloy components are used as components, appropriate alloys should be selected according to the pressure they bear. The strength of pure aluminum is the lowest, while that of heat treatment alloy of alloy 2××× series and alloy 7××× series is the highest.
Corrosion Resistance:
Corrosion resistance of industrial aluminum profile includes chemical corrosion, stress corrosion and other properties. Generally speaking, alloy 1××× series of pure aluminum has the best corrosion resistance, alloy 5××× series performs well, followed by alloy 3××× series and alloy 6××× series, alloy 2××× series and alloy 7××× series are poor. The principle of corrosion resistance should be determined according to its use. All kinds of anti-corrosion composite materials must be used in high strength alloy corrosion environment.
Machinability:
Machining performance includes insert forming performance and cutting performance. Because the formability is related to the temper. Strength range of various temper should be taken into account after the aluminum alloy plate number is selected, and usually the material with high strength is not easy to be formed. The formability of the annealed material is the best, whereas that of the heat-treated material is the worst. The machinability of aluminum alloy is poor, and the machinability of aluminum alloy is better for die and mechanical parts. On the contrary, the machinability of low-strength aluminum alloy is poor.
Weldability:
The weldability of most aluminum alloys is not a problem, especially the aluminum alloy of part 5 series, which is specially designed for welding.
Decorative Performance:
When industrial aluminum profile was used in decoration or some special occasions, the surface needs to be anodized, coated and so on. In order to obtain the appropriate color and surface tissue, its decorative nature should be considered. In general, good corrosion resistance materials, its anode treatment performance, surface treatment performance, coating performance are very good.
