The development of modern industry requires more and more high-performance motor. The thermal loss problem restricts the design and development of large capacity motor. Whether the cooling medium through the motor interior or not. We divide motor cooling into Internal Cooling and Surface Cooling. Small or medium-sized motors use surface cooling due to the limitation of volume.
According to the different cooling medium, we divide into air cooling motor and liquid/water cooling motor. The advantage of air cooling is low running cost. But there are many disadvantages: high friction loss and low heat dissipation efficiency. So air cooling motor applies to low energy density and low heating motor structures.
The disadvantage of water-cooled motor is high running cost. But there are more advantage: small friction coefficient and high heat dissipation efficiency. So water-cooled motor applies to high energy density and high heat output motor structures.
What is Water-Cooled Motor?
The secret is that the motor body adopts sealed water circulation. The flowing water through the motor body takes the heat away. But how to achieve water flow in the motor housing without leakage?
Approach Aluminum Extruded Water-cooled Motor Body
Aluminum alloy has good plasticity and thermal conductivity. And aluminum alloy profile has high tensile strength. These excellent properties make aluminum alloy as the best material of Motor Housing. With the continuous improvement of modern extrusion technology. The large-section motor body can be extruded as a whole. Thus replacing the traditional motor shell which relies on the welding joint.
The extruded water-cooled Motor Shell has a compact structure. It adopts inner wall spiral water distributing tank. Special argon arc welding process makes the junction of water channel more sealed. The spiral waterway in the shell divides into water inlet and water outlet. The water flow can take away the heat generated during the high-speed operation of the motor.

Main Problems and Application of Aluminum Water-Cooled Motor Body
The main problem of aluminum motor is the internal diameter concentrically tolerance. Large tolerance can cause friction between the rotor and the inner wall of the motor housing. So it makes a lot of noise. The new type of water-cooled motor processes two ends accurately. Controlling concentrically error ≤0.02 mm. And it extends the motor more than three times service life.
